Storm Crow manor commissioned us for ten identical shot glass trays for their Infinity Gauntlet-inspired drink. We've always been fans of Storm Crow and their nerdy food, drinks, and décor. Not to mention, we were very happy to work with a local business!
Our work was cut out for us from the start since Storm Crow provided us with a sample of the shot glass tray they were currently using. The new iterations needed to improve upon the old ones in several ways: in to giving a nod to the source material, being light and easy to carry, and accurately light each shot up in the iconic Infinity Stone colours.
Initial Renders
The first challenge was to translate the look of the gauntlet onto a round, flat surface, so when modelling, Jenn kept the distinct patterns of the gauntlet in mind.
To solve for weight, the trays were modeled to be hollow. A hollow tray would also allow the installation of LEDs and access to change the batteries.
Build Process
Comparison shot of our initial tray (left) next to the trays Storm Crow was currently using. Final product included some tweaking to colours of the resin cast discs. The trays were printed in seven thick, durable pieces and included two handles on each tray. They were then assembled, bodyshopped, and painted in house by the Dangerous Ladies Team. Since each tray was hand-painted, we took extra attention to detail to make each tray as uniform as possible.
Project Photos
Finished project photos by Heavenly Visuals.
We packed and delivered the new trays in person, but not before having a small photoshoot with our fog machine. If photos aren't enough, why not head down to Storm Crow and order some Infinity Shots to see (and taste) for yourself!?
