Statement on US/Canada Tariffs

Hello again, our dear American friends!

Updated: 04/02/2025

We don’t really know what’s going on with tariffs — we aren’t sure anyone does! — but as of today, orders under $800 USD can still be made tariff-free.

Updated: 03/04/2025

While your administration has now applied tariffs to purchases on Canadian goods, the "de minimus" tax exemption is still active. This means that orders under $800 USD will NOT be tariffed for the time being. If your purchase is going to exceed this limit, please consider placing multiple orders instead.

Thank you for continuing to support us, so that we can continue to support you!

Our dear American friends:

As Canadian artists, we love our friends, clients, and fellow cosplay community members in the United States. Our love for our art and our hobby and our favourite shows and games doesn’t care one whit about borders. We are proud to make all of our resin kits in-house out of silicone and resin products manufactured in the US, supporting American business.

But as many of you are aware, Trump has initiated a trade war with Canada and Mexico, despite our long-standing free trade agreements. A tariff of 25% is set to apply to all Canadian goods coming into the United States come March 6th. This tariff is paid by the American consumer.

Trump has also eliminated the “de minimis” exemption for packages; this part of the free trade agreement between Canada and the US meant that packages valued under $800 USD were not subject to import taxes and tariffs. With de minimis off the table, orders that used to come without duties will no longer be exempt, meaning rising costs for consumers.

We feel strongly that this is bad for business in both the United States and globally. Small and medium sized businesses will disproportionately bear the burdens of the collapse of our free trade agreement, while large companies can absorb costs via volume and cash reserves. Costs will skyrocket for everyone as the price of materials surge. We’re sure many of you know this and feel the same, and are hoping that this will not go ahead. Unfortunately, all any of us can do right now is contact our representatives and make sure our voices are heard.

However, should it happen:

We suggest placing orders in the next 2 weeks so we can get them out and to the border before March 6th, hopefully avoiding customs charges. Tariffs depend entirely on when we can get it to the border, not on order date. We will be doing our level best to get as much done as possible.

Additionally, Tarrifs will not apply to digital files. Digital goods are protected from the imposition of tariffs under CUSMA/USMCA; we will continue to have our files available to Americans with no additional cost.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
The Ladies 🗡️
