Dangerous Ladies' 3D models for Shank Backs
Model by Jennifer Rezny (@quicksparrows)
.stl format. Three sizes of base and three sizes of ring, all interchangeable.
We do all our button files flat backed. This to make printing easier, but also because printed hardware tends to be very weak compared to inexpensive jewelry findings. But how to attach to your costume, if you don't want to glue it directly on or glue on a snap? While we generally recommend metal findings like a spade bail whenever possible, sometimes you can't get it in time and just want to print. These solve that problem! The base and ring are separate so they can both print flat, which is their strongest orientation, and so they can be swapped around.
You could use the ring without the base if you wanted, but the base is meant to provide more surface area to glue and reduce a shearing force against the ring.
The base sizes are nominally 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4", but they are a few mm smaller than those measurements so they aren't as visible from the sides of the button. Ie, a 1/4" base could go on a 1/4" button and wouldn't be visible at the edges.
