Dangerous Ladies' 3D models for Morrigan and Lilith's Darkstalkers wings.
Model by Jennifer Rezny (@quicksparrows)
.stl format. Finishes with a wingspan of 60", sliced for printers 250mm tall. It is a big project.
The wing itself is just the frame; the inner part is meant to be made from foam or fabric. This is because if you print it all, it's exceedingly rigid and takes a ton more material to print, and it takes astronomically longer to print with more seams.
You can print these rigid or in TPU if you want a little bit of natural bounce to them.
The harness is critical; it prints in multiple parts, including a "STRONG" version that is ideally printed with the flat side down so that the filament is strongest running that direction. I suggest printing them extra tough and then FIBERGLASSING the plate. Putting fiberglass on the plate will give it much more strength. I also suggest heat-forming the plate to fit your back really well, or, if necessary, only print the top part with the brackets and make your own harness for the bottom. (Files for custom backplates are available for a fee, with a 3D scan of your back being a requirement!)
The wings can be made removable; you will probably want to do this for travel, and for more or less quick release. It's designed so you need only get a 3/8" carriage bolt (ideally 6-7" long) to slot it into the wing and harness at once, locking it in place. There is an optional "cap" piece you can put on top to hide the bolt, and the cap piece has a magnet slot on the bottom so you can put a magnet in to help hold to the top of the bolt. You can put a nut on the bottom of the bolt for extra security, but it's probably not necessary. To remove the wing, just push the bolt up from the bottom and remove from the slot, then pull the wing off. (See attached video.) If you want the bolt to be invisible while you wear it, you can use a shorter bolt, but you'll need to poke a pen or something up into the bottom hole to push it back out of place.
Also PLEASE NOTE to keep file size down, I've only included one wing. Please remember to print a second set MIRRORED to get two full wings.
Files include:
- Photos
- .STL files
