Items in this listing are "masters", which are bodyshopped, ready-to-mould pieces on bucks. They often come with their boxes and in a state where they are ready to mould; just pour silicone on them and you've got a mould! They are ideal for people who want to make their own moulds to cast resin and other materials in. Please read all of the below information before purchasing, as there will be no replacements, returns, exchanges, etc. on masters.
Some things to know:
- In most circumstances, the kits are complete. Some may be missing small parts, especially in the case of kits with 20+ pieces. Often these pieces are generics like tiny domes, diamonds, etc. If you find yourself missing a part that you'd like and wasn't included, send us a picture of the part you're looking for and I can likely send you the 3D print file to complete the set.
- These come with most of their mould boxes for efficient silicone use. If you're missing some boxes, let us know and we can send you the files for them.
- These pieces CANNOT be used as-is on your costume, as they are mounted on bucks (flat platforms for the moulding process.) You could try sanding off the bucks or similar, but it'd be tedious, and also you'd only have one of each piece.
- We are selling these masters primarily because we have existing, good-condition moulds for these characters, and don't expect to ever remould them, whether that's because our moulds will last a few more years or because the character doesn't sell well enough to justify remoulding.
- Pricing is largely just to cover our time cataloguing and packaging all the masters; these are very undervalued, but throwing a ton of perfectly good masters in the garbage seems wasteful of materials, especially when someone can still get some use out of them.
- LIMITED MOULDING RIGHTS INCLUDED. If you'd like to cast a couple kits to sell or make your money back on silicone or for friends or anything, that's perfectly fine. However, these are not meant to start your own business with; we're not really interested in competing with our own products, so please just use common sense. IF YOU RESELL MASTERS, YOU MUST LET US KNOW WHO YOU SELL THEM TO.
- If you don't want to spend money on silicone, you can use alginate instead. It's much cheaper ($20 worth of it will do basically any kit we have with plenty to spare) BUT alginate moulds will usually only last 2-3 casts at most if you're careful, and will need to be cast same-day as you make the mould, so you'll have to work quick and use a resin that sets fast. Do some research, but it should be a viable alternative if you're looking to keep costs down.
- We will not be uploading individual images for these masters. However, if it is unclear what a kit consists of, email us and we will tell you :)
